On this page, you’ll find lots of ways to donate money, stuff, or time.
Donating money
The PayPal link is now working just fine, after a brief hiatus. (The problem was with us, not with PayPal.)
In person: stop by any Key Bank in the country and tell them you’d like to donate to the “Friends of Bill Martin” account at the Vancouver, Washington, branch; they’ll also need to know the name the account is under, which is Bill’s sister, Mary Sutter. Find the Key Bank nearest to you.
By mail: Write the check out to “Friends of Bill Martin, Vancouver, WA” and mail it to KeyBank; 13215-A SE Mill Plain Blvd.; Vancouver, WA, 98684-6991. If you like, you may also include the routing code for that branch on your envelope or the check, which is WA-31-99-0358.
Online transfer: if you ‘d like to set up a monthly payment, or make a one-time payment electronically from your bank account, just write us at billsbuddies@gmail.com and we’ll send you the account information.
Donating stuff
Here are some things Bill needs currently, as of June 16, 2009:
- A comfortable LazyBoy-type recliner. His old one’s worn out and his back’s been hurting lately.
- An extension ladder suitable for gutter work on a one-story house (15-2o feet?). He promised he won’t be using it himself, but he wants to have it available for the people who are helping him.
Donating time
- The gutters on his house are down and ready to replaced. We’ll be announcing a work party soon. Watch the blog for more info.
- If you’re one of Bill’s many musician friends, consider dedicating your earnings from a specific gig to the cause. And tell us you’re doing it! Even though you might be inclined to be modest about this sort of thing, if we can announce it on the blog, that might inspire some friendly competition.
- Please feel free to dream up your own creative fundraising ideas. And be sure to tell us about them so we can link to and publicize them.
